As a beginner to tyrant there are many things to know. some of the most important things i cant stress enough is BUY GOLD PACKS at a lower level until you get all the good cards you desire. don't worry about buying enclave and homeworld packs, gold are much better. also SAVE your war bonds never ever spend them until you get 60 for elite. warbonds are the most precious item in the game you should cherish them.

Starting off Empty COC's Beginners Tips

Leveling and Card Pool:
-Even playing casually can get you a level or so every day or every few days. If you don't have much time auto-ing at 4x is an option. If you have some time I recommend playing with auto off and a slower speed so you can learn the game.
-Completing missions should be a priority. Raids and reputation grinding are really only important early game for certain cards.
-Sealed tournaments are the best deal for your gold, focus on Gold pack tournaments when you can keep your cards.
-If you are getting stuck, ask or check out the websites listed below.
-Save War Bonds until you know what they are good for, don't spend War Bonds on cards you can possibly get with gold. Dracorex is one of the very few cards I would spend War Bonds on if you get elite. The elite store is a good deal as it gives you a free 60 War Bonds.

Faction Wars:
-Even at a low level you can take part in faction wars, this will net you a little gold and help you learn the game.
-Fight, you will go first but get less points, Surge the enemy will play first. Start with fight as it's easier until you get a feel for the enemy. Surge if you can win consistently or to test the waters when we have a large lead.
-Quit a battle if you are going to lose for sure, this gives the enemy less points.
-If we are winning a war by a substantial amount (e.g. 1000 points or more) feel free to attack even if you are losing to get some gold and experience.
-Set your defense deck on home page, this is the deck the enemy will fight if you are randomly selected when they attack us.
-If you need help with your deck, ask.
-In general it's best to not play on auto, if we have a large lead and you know what you are doing or don't have much time, it's OK.
-In general if we have a defense and active war at the same time and both are relatively close, focus on the active. A loss on an active war costs us more points than a defense.

Activity:
-When you don't have much time to play, it's easy to log-in do a stamina and energy dump quickly, this will keep momentum in your progress.
-Activity is way more important than your level, everyone can play their part.

Deck Building 101:
-In general mono-decks are better at lower levels because you don't have a large card pool.
-Focus on cards that work well together.
-Common deck types are Mono Slow Roll (big tough guys of the same type), Mono Rush (fast guys, like II irradiated infantry for example, maybe with rally), Strike (lots of cards with strike to maintain control), Rainbow (a variety of good cards of different types), Structure (primarily strike, weaken to control assault). Simple decks can work surprisingly well.
-There is a deck building program out there that is useful for testing your deck for missions and against players, this also has tons of preloaded deck examples, google Tyrant Deck Simulator.
